Filmlageret

Our very first property

Nordisk Film's former movie storage warehouse has been transformed into 37 student homes with playful architecture focused on creating great small units and plentiful shared spaces for a strong community. Next door, 9 new flats and a large rooftop common room has been added with views over all of Copenhagen.

The whole thing is connected by a large walking bridge - connecting old and new, students and workers.

Creating communities

Filmlageret is a community living project in Copenhagen. Tenants live in an attractive location in a rapidly developing neighborhood on Amager with good access to public transport, the city center and Amager Beach Park, are just 5 minutes away.

Filmlageret, named after the site's former function, consists of two buildings: One building is brand new and designed by Spacon & X with a diverse collection of apartments and characterful architecture that was awarded the City of Copenhagen's Building Award for 2021. The second building is a transformed industrial building, housing 37 student apartments.

Bridging different communities and creating a common ground is the main inspiration for Filmlageret. Each design element has been carefully chosen to foster a sense of community: Throughout the building there are no less than 10 common rooms where tenants can cook and socialize with your neighbors.

On the first floor there are two commercial spaces, including a café to vitalize the community, as well as a large, relaxing garden and three terraces. One of the terraces is located on the roof of the building, offering one of the coolest rooftop community spaces in all of Copenhagen. Here, tenants can barbecue with their friends and neighbors while enjoying the view over the city's rooftops.

Rethinking tenantship

Not only have we tried to make the most of the space, but we also actively involve our tenants in the decision-making process.

Together with a fantastic team of people, we want to create a livable and lovable community where everyone feels welcome.
